Love Is Blind flew home to make a winning return to action in the Kilminfoyle House Stud Fillies Maiden at Fairyhouse.

The Joseph O’Brien-trained filly had been fourth on both outings as a juvenile but was making a belated return this season.

Wayne Hassett got a great tune from the 8/1 shot in the final furlong as she made up plenty of ground to get up late on and beat Treasure Rose by half-a-length.

O’Brien said:- “She was very tough and Wayne gave her a lovely ride.

“She came home well. She had two decent runs and was off the track for a little while. We thought she’d come forward for today’s run, and that seven was on the short side, but they probably went plenty quick and it set up well for her.

“You’d have to be really positive about her attitude. She only has one eye but it doesn’t seem to effect her. After the line she saw the road and jumped at it.

“She’s very tenacious, it was a nice ride from Wayne, and it’s nice to get her maiden won.

“She loves a bit of juice in the ground and we probably would have had her out a little bit before now had the ground been softer.

“She’ll be busy now for the rest of the year."
