A winner first time out this season at Listowel in May, La La Lucrative (5/1) bounced back from a poor run five days later to win Roscommon's Jimmy Murray Agri Services Handicap over seven furlongs.

Having travelled powerfully just behind the pace, Robbie Colgan's mount led over a furlong out to account for the 3/1 favourite Toy Soldier by three-parts of a length.

“I’m delighted with that. They went a fair gallop and he came there travelling well and stuck at it well,” said winning trainer Matt Smith.

“He got a few bumps as well. I’m delighted for his owners, Shay and Kathleen Gillen.

When asked if seven furlongs was his trip, he added:-

“It appears to be, and he probably could go back on slower ground. He ran over six in Fairyhouse the last day, it was probably a bit soon after Listowel and the ground was probably a bit quick.

“He won over that trip here last year, so it’s ideal.

“He’s after improving this year and has been a little bit more consistent.”
