Lumiere to skip Royal Ascot Lumiere will not run in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot on Friday. Mark Johnston's Group One-winning filly was poised to revert to sprinting after she disappointed over a mile in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket. But Johnston told racinguk.com: "She's just not been sparkling at home. We're just not happy with her." Lumiere finished last in the Guineas, have previously claimed top-level success in the Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket last September.
