Lynam could aim duo at July Cup Anthem Alexander and Sole Power could attempt to provide trainer Eddie Lynam with back-to-back victories in the Darley July Cup at Newmarket on Saturday week. Having won the Group One 12 months ago with Slade Power, the County Meath handler is again set to be well represented in the coveted six-furlong sprint. Three-year-old filly Anthem Alexander was last seen finishing third behind fellow July Cup contender Muhaarar in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot. Lynam said: "I don't know what to make of her Royal Ascot run. "She travelled like the best horse in the race, she was the last off the bridle, and I thought she was coming to win the race. But I don't know what happened after that. "She'll have the Australian horse (Brazen Beau) and Charlie Hills' horse Muhaarar, and all the top sprinters to beat in the July Cup but we might tweak the tactics a little bit and let her take her chance at Newmarket." Five-times Group One scorer Sole Power, fifth in the King's Stand Stakes at Ascot as the 5-2 favourite, may also be given the go-ahead as long as conditions are suitable. Lynam told the Irish Times: "If the ground comes up lightning quick he would run in the July Cup, too. "His Derby now is the Nunthorpe (at York) but he needs races to keep him ticking over and he ran well in the race a couple of years ago when he was unlucky."
