Lynam has Royal Ascot Power Eddie Lynam is hoping Royal Ascot will finally see Sole Power in his true colours when he lines up for the King's Stand Stakes later this month. The five-year-old sprinter has disappointed in both his runs at the Berkshire track to date, including last year's renewal of the Group One feature when he was only eighth to Prohibit. Lynam believes Sole Power, who sprang a 100-1 shock in York's Nunthorpe Stakes in 2010, is a more consistent horse these days and is expecting a big run on June 19. And he reports Sole Power to be in fine shape after only being beaten a neck by Bated Breath in the Temple Stakes at Haydock recently, where both horses broke the track record. "He only lost two kilos, so he took the race great last week," said the County Meath trainer. "He'll go to Ascot. He's been there twice before and run poorly for different reasons. "Hopefully he will bring his A-game to Ascot this time. He more's consistent now. He'll run in the King's Stand and then the Nunthorpe again at York."
