Eddie Lynam hopes to be doubly represented on Dubai World Cup night with Sole Power and Balmont Mast after both ran highly-encouraging races at Meydan on Saturday.

Sole Power finished second in the Listed Meydan Sprint over five furlongs for the second successive year running and is set to have another crack at the Al Quoz Sprint in which he was runner-up 12 months ago.

Balmont Mast was third in the Mahab Al Shimaal to book his place in the Golden Shaheen over six furlongs. Both races are on the same March 30 card at Meydan.

"Sole Power ran very well. It was his first run since the Abbaye five months ago," said County Meath-based Lynam.

"He had a bit of a tummy on him and was a little bit fresh, but we were delighted with him. They broke the track record.

"It's the Al Quoz Sprint next time for him and the Golden Shaheen for Balmont Mast.

"He was just a bit further back than we wanted. He had a bad draw, but he ran some very good fractions from the four marker home, so hopefully he'll go for the Golden Shaheen."
