LYNCH HOT ON GOLAN FOR DERBY Fergal Lynch turned tipster today as he looked forward to his return to action in Britain. The young Ulster jockey, who has his first rides of the year in Britain at Southwell tomorrow, is convinced that Golan has the right qualities for the Vodafone Derby. Lynch was hugely impressed when he partnered the Sir Michael Stoute-trained colt to victory at Chepstow. The jockey has returned from a winter stint in India where he rode 15 winners. 'It is good to be back, but I enjoyed my stay and apart from the winners I rode in all the Classic races,' he said. 'In fact I hoped I might win the Bombay Derby on Sunday but I finished only fourth and what made it worse was Richard Hughes catching me for third close home.' He struck up a successful partnership with Kevin Ryan last year and will again be teaming up with the Malton trainer as well as riding for Stoute`s powerful Newmarket stable. 'I rode some lovely two-year-olds for Sir Michael last year, including Golan who I won on at Chepstow, he is some horse and is now second favourite for the Derby,' said Lynch. 'He must have a great chance if all goes well and I just hope Kieren (Fallon) remembers the little part I have played and buys me a present if Golan does win at Epsom!'
