Maciver keep his winning run going at Limerick today, recording his fourth success in a row by taking the McDermotts Gala Patrickswell Handicap Chase. Made In The Woods made a bold bid from the front in the two-mile-six contest and was joined going to the last by Maciver.

Arthur O’Grady’s charge stuck his head in front on the run-in and kept on gamely, despite Cian Quirke dropping his right rein, to record a hard fought neck success at odds of 5/1.

Maciver started his winning run on New Year’s Day at Tramore and had won over hurdles here later that month before switching back to take a handicap chase at Clonmel late last month.

"we are delighted and it is great to have a horse like this, who keeps us going,” said O’Grady.

‘It was another peach of a ride and Cian said he was happy throughout and made great lengths at the jumps.

"The horse had gone up a lot in the handicap but was in great form coming."
