Mad About You fine after US flop Dermot Weld's Mad About You is reported to be none the worse following her below-par performance at Arlington Park on Saturday. The Moyglare Stud-owned filly could only finish seventh of the eight runners in the Grade One Beverly D Stakes but racing manager Stan Cosgrove believes there were excuses for the disappointing performance. "She's arrived back home grand and what got to her in America was the heat - she was about to collapse. It was 105 degrees Fahrenheit so it was very hot and she just couldn't cope with it," said Cosgrove. "Pat (Smullen) didn't persevere with her so she has come out it fine and she'll be OK. I would say she could run in the Matron Stakes at Leopardstown next."
