Magern On Target For Sandown Ollie Magern is reported to be on course for the Stan James King George VI Chase at Sandown on Boxing Day. The seven-year-old put in a disappointing display at Haydock last time when finishing a distant last of seven runners in the Betfair Chase. Ollie Magern returned home lame after that outing but trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies reports him to be back in good health. He said: 'There´s no injury. He was lame after Haydock but he´s perfectly sound now. 'He´s never been the soundest of horses but there is no problem and he is very much on target for the King George at present.' Ollie Magern was one of last season´s top staying novices before injury cut short his campaign and forced him to miss the Cheltenham Festival. The Alderbrook gelding won the Charlie Hall Chase on his return at Wetherby though and is as low as 10-1 with Ladbrokes for the King George.(C) PA Sport
