Mags Mullins has yet to decide whether to test recent Clonmel winner Salty Boy in handicap company at Navan on Sunday.

The Stowaway gelding was an impressive winner of his maiden hurdle at the Tipperary track last Thursday, when proving too strong for hotpot Notebook.

He holds an entry in the €50,000 Proudstown Handicap Hurdle on Sunday, but the Doninga handler will discuss plans with the owners before making a final decision.

“We have him entered in the handicap at Navan on Sunday, but we’re not sure whether we’ll run yet and I have to chat to the owners,” said Mullins.

“He came out of the race very well. We’ll see, we are happy with him anyway.

“I think he is an improving type horse and he’s a stayer.

“Danny (Mullins) gave him a grand ride in Clonmel and he did it lovely. He’s getting better each day, but he always runs well every day.

“He’s in over two-six at the weekend and I’d say that’s his trip, two-six plus as he’s a staying horse.

“I think he might want a little bit more of an ease in it as well, but we’ll see.”
