Having been supported from 6/1 into 4/6f, the Denis Hogan trained Majestic King proved to be a handicap blot when absolutely bolting up in the concluding Save 33% Buying Tickets Online Handicap at Gowran Park.

Tracking the leaders into the straight, jockey Joey Sheridan could afford to take a pull over a furlong out, such was the ease with which the Chomping At The Bit Syndicate owned gelding was travelling.

Allowed to stride on soon after, the five-year-old quickly asserted, drawing clear of his toiling rivals to win by three-and-a-half lengths.

“He’s a grand horse. He enjoyed the trip and that ground is fine. Hopefully there is a bit more improvement in him,” said Sheridan.

The winner is entered at Ballinrobe on Friday and he added:- “I’m not whether Denis will run him or not but he’s a grand horse.”
