Aidan O'Brien's The Great War will face five opponents when he puts his huge reputation on the line in the Cold Move EBF Marble Hill Stakes at the Curragh.

The American-bred son of War Front created a big impression when justifying odds-on favouritism on his debut at Tipperary at the end of April and he was just as impressive when following up over this course and distance at the start of the month.

He may encounter slightly slower conditions for his hat-trick bid this weekend, but will be widely expected to get the job done and earn himself a trip to Royal Ascot.

His main threat could prove to be fellow unbeaten colt Cappella Sansevero, who bolted up on his first start on the all-weather at Dundalk and followed up in the Fishery Lane at Naas last week.

Trainer Ger Lyons said: "The horse is in great order and I think he's in better shape now than he was before Naas, as he'd missed a couple of pieces of work going into that race.

"The better the ground the better the chance he'll have, but I'm keen to let him run as I want to find out where I'm going with him.

"He's a horse I like a lot and I want to find out whether he's a horse for the Norfolk or the Coventry at Royal Ascot. He's a horse with plenty of speed and I want to make sure I run him in the right race, if he goes to Ascot at all."

Gerard O'Leary's Primo Uomo, the Andrew Slattery-trained Sors, Tommy Stack's Blackbriar and Coto from Matty Tynan's yard complete the field.
