Last year's winner Amazing Maria is one of 12 fillies confirmed for the Tattersalls 250th Year Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket on Friday.

David O'Meara's five-year-old enjoyed a spectacular summer in 2015, winning the Duke of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Falmouth before landing the Prix Rothschild at Deauville.

Amazing Maria has been beaten on each of her two starts this season, but ran a creditable race against the boys on her return to the Royal meeting last month when sixth in the Queen Anne.

Euro Charline would not be winning out of turn if clinching a first European Group One.

Since chasing home Amazing Maria on the July Course a year ago, Marco Botti's charge has filled the runner-up spot in the Dubai Turf at Meydan and the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury.

Andre Fabre has left in this year's Duke of Cambridge heroine Usherette and she could be reopposed by the third at Ascot, Saeed bin Suroor's Always Smile.

Bin Suroor and Godolphin could also call upon the talented Very Special, while Aidan O'Brien has a couple of contenders in Ballydoyle and Alice Springs.

The Jim Bolger-trained Turret Rocks is another potential challenger from Ireland.

Martyn Meade's Irish Rookie, Kevin Ryan's Ashadihan, Hugo Palmer's Hawksmoor and Nemoralia from Jeremy Noseda's yard complete the entries.
