David Marnane is dreaming of giving Settle For Bay the chance to be only the second back-to-back winner of the Royal Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot.

Marnane reports Settle For Bay in full training again after returning from Dubai, where he had a wind operation following two below-par runs at Meydan in January.

"He's back in full whack. He had a wind op out in Dubai, I'm happy with him and he's back training well," said the County Tipperary handler.

"We’re looking to running him in a Listed race at Naas in May and we'll see how he's progressing.

"Going back to Ascot would be the Holy Grail. I'd love to give the Hunt Cup another go. I think if he's right, he could do it. He's a very good horse."

Settle For Bay was an emphatic winner of the 30-runner handicap last summer, coming home two and a quarter lengths clear of Afaak.

The only horse to return in triumph 12 months later was Master Vote, who was successful in 1947 and 1948 for his owner-trainer Herbert Blagrave, in a race first run in 1843.
