Matty heading on summer break Jazzy Matty is heading out to grass with connections eyeing another return to Cheltenham next year. The chestnut has been a flag bearer for trainer Cian Collins, giving him a career highlight when winning the Grand Annual in 2025. He was narrowly denied a follow-up success in the same race last month, when going down by just a nose to Martator. The seven-year-old ended his campaign with a fine fifth-placed finish over timber at Aintree, in the William Hill Handicap Hurdle, and has earned a well-deserved break. "He is in great form since Aintree and we are actually going to let him out tomorrow for a break,” said Collins. “He had two hard races at Cheltenham and Aintree, so we'll mind him and we've no major plans with him at the moment. "Obviously we'll aim for Cheltenham again next year. He is a different horse, a way better horse around there. "He'll keep mixing it between fences and hurdles, it just keeps him interested. It seems to spark him up when he sees a fence after jumping hurdles. It seems to work, so we'll keep doing it."
