The Willie Mullins trained Max Dynamite has settled in well to his surroundings in Hong Kong ahead of Sunday's Longines Hong Kong Vase where he will take on the likes of Highland Reel and Talismanic.

The seven year old breezed over 6 furlongs on the turf course on Tuesday morning at Sha Tin in a time of 1m 26.8s and covered the last 200m in 11 seconds.

David Casey, who rode the piece of work and is assistant to trainer Willie Mullins, said: “He’s well, he’s in good form and there's no problem with how he’s taken the trip. I was pleased with his work this morning.”

Mullins speaking from Ireland said: “I am very happy with Max Dynamite and he has been working well. We would be delighted if he could make it into the first three in Hong Kong. He has recovered well from his run in the Melbourne Cup and has been fine since then. We are looking forward to him running at the weekend.

“The drop back in distance (1m4f) is not ideal, but it is what we have to do and he had some good form over shorter distances back in his younger days.”

Max Dynamite has twice finished in the places in the Melbourne Cup.
