John McConnell is eyeing the £100,000 Watergate Cup at Chester on Saturday week for Anna Bunina.

The Poet's Voice mare has been a real money spinner for owner Caroline Ahearn this year and made a successful switch back to the level when scoring at Killarney last month.

Having already claimed the Scottish Champion Hurdle on a number of raids to Britain she will be aimed at another big pot in the extended two-mile-two contest on the Roodee on September 24th.

McConnell said:- “She goes to Chester for a €100,000 race. It's almost like a Chester Cup for the autumn.

“I think it's worth a go with her over that trip.”
