McConnell pair set for return to the turf Mulgrave and Khadaash will return to the turf in the coming weeks, after successful all-weather campaigns. The John McConnell-trained pair both acquitted themselves with credit when last seen on All-Weather Finals Day at Lingfield on Good Friday. Mulgrave, who racked up a hat-trick at Dundalk in February, finished a close-up fifth in the All Weather Vase Mile Handicap, while Khadaash was also fifth in the All Weather Vase Marathon Handicap. "I think we were very unlucky with Khadaash, he was a little bit slowly away and got hampered. He finished well and probably should have won," McConnell explained. "Mulgrave ran a cracker, he was a bit unlucky not to be a bit closer. They ran very well. "Mulgrave had three weeks or a month off and Khadaash had a couple of weeks off for proper good ground, and we'll come back to the turf with both of them. "I'd say so (another winter campaign) afterwards." Additional reporting by Michael Graham
