McCoy out of Sync Tony McCoy revealed he could not sleep on Friday night after winning the Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup aboard Synchronised. The 16-times champion jockey said adrenalin was still coursing through his veins following his truly exceptional ride at the Cheltenham Festival. Synchronised, trained by Jonjo O'Neill and owned by JP McManus, rarely travelled sweetly at any stage of the Gold Cup, but somehow outstayed The Giant Bolster and Long Run under his peerless rider. McCoy told BBC Radio Five Live: "I went out celebrating with my family, Jonjo's family, and the McManus family (on Friday night). "A few of the lads were out as well - Ruby (Walsh), Barry (Geraghty) and David Casey - and I came back about 3.30am and went to bed. "I couldn't sleep so I sadly, or stupidly, watched the Gold Cup, and that was me finished. "I thought it would be a really good time to watch it, but it really got the adrenalin rushing. "As far as getting to sleep was concerned, that wasn't the right thing to do. "I don't know what time I went to sleep, but I woke up at 6am in the morning and I couldn't get back to sleep. "Unfortunately I had six rides at Ffos Las (on Saturday) so I'm not sure those poor horses got the best of me."
