Sean McDermott is hopeful that he will be sidelined for just a few weeks after injuring an ankle at the schooling grounds on the Curragh yesterday morning.

The Tralee rider was kicked by a horse but is still unsure of the full extent of the damage as it's too swollen at present.

"The doctors aren't sure if its broken because it's swollen up quite a bit at the moment. Hopefully it's not broken and I could be back in about ten days to two weeks," said McDermott.

With a career tally approaching 90 winners, things have been a bit slow for McDermott this season although he did notch up his fourth winner of the campaign aboard Shark Hanlon's Refused A Name at Down Royal on St Stephen's Day.
