McDonogh has open mind with Morga Des McDonogh has an "open mind" about Morga's future after she neatly illustrated her versatility with a tidy success at the Curragh last Sunday. The six-year-old mare cut loose in a mile-and-a-half fillies' handicap at the County Kildare track when she pulled nearly four lengths clear of Ceol Na Nog in some style. Prior to that, Morga had finished fourth behind subsequent Ebor hero Heartbreak City in a two-mile handicap hurdle at the Galway Festival. McDonogh said: "She's such a hardy mare and it was delightful to see her win so well. "Even after the race she was jig-jogging away and has come out of the race perfectly. "Her Galway form obviously looks solid, as well, as she had to give 12lb to the Ebor winner, while the second horse that day (St Stephens Green) has also won. "The handicapper has put her up 12lb for the Curragh, so she's on 94 now and that rules out some of the races I had in mind. "It might be we are forced to go to some of the better handicaps on the Flat at Leopardstown and the Curragh, but everything is open to her. "She could go hurdling again and she could even go over fences, so I'll keep an open mind as to what we do with her."
