Trainer Ado McGuinness bids to continue his excellent recent run by sending two horses to Newcastle today, both of whom are last-time-out winners.

Taceec contests the 4.25 mile handicap and was a winner at Wolverhampton on January 9 while Ken's Sam's runs in the 6.25, a six furlongs contest.

McGuinness' assistant Stephen Thorne today said “both horses are really well fancied today. Taceec is a horse we like a lot and has been here with us since August, having been pre-trained by Ruth Jones. He has thrived and is definitely one to keep on the right side of in the next couple of months and could even be a Galway festival type later in the year.

“He scrapes in today without a penalty and we're hoping he'll win, barring traffic problems in-running.

“We've had Ken's Sam's since the end of November and she was only rated 33 when we got her so we were struggling to get a run into her. She was raised 21lbs for her run in Dundalk in January but needed a hike to get her into low grade races and won well there on Friday.

“She has taken her race well and her weight is good and we're hoping for the best.”
