Ado McGuinness was pleased with Tribal Star's return to action in third in a rated race at Dundalk just over a fortnight ago and is set to send the five-year-old gelding on his travels again.

The son of Sea The Stars picked up plenty of prize money last year, including when runner-up on the valuable Good Friday card at Newcastle in addition to finishing fourth in the Northumberland Plate at the same venue. He also claimed the Red God Handicap at Dundalk.

The trainer said: "Delighted with him, would have wanted the run.

"We have to get another couple of runs into him before we get to Newcastle - the plan will be Newcastle (on Good Friday).

"He'll go back for the Northumberland Plate later in the season.

"We'll go for those big Flat staying handicaps.

"He was only a four-year-old last year and I thought he ran some very good races.

"We'll get a day with him somewhere."
