Adrian McGuinness is hopeful that Hodd's Girl can pick up some valuable black-type at Chelmsford this afternoon.

One of eight declared for the Listed Champagne Collet Queen Charlotte Fillies' Stakes, the six-year-old looks up against it on paper and is set to be sent off the outsider of the field.

A seven-time winner, the likeable grey dead-heated for third in a valuable contest at Newcastle on All-Weather Finals day, disappointing at Naas on her sole start since.

"It is competitive, but she wasn't that far behind Queen Aminatu (who re-opposes) in Newcastle," McGuiness commented.

"She's in great form and worked very well the other day up the Curragh, and we are expecting a big run.

"Black-type is what we are after. If she pulls that Newcastle run out of the bag, she will definitely get black-type.

"She has a great draw (stall one) and Hollie Doyle is on, so we are looking forward to it."
