Owner J.P. McManus’ homebred Goodie Two Shoes (3/1f) completed wins in consecutive Listed races today, as the Joseph O’Brien-trained mare landed Down Royal’s featured His Majesty's Plate, under Dylan Browne McMonagle.

Out of a Galileo-sired mare, the six-year-old daughter of Fastnet Rock has tried chasing last winter but reverted to the Flat last month and at Gowran on May 7 landed the Vintage Tipple Stakes.

Rated 100, Goodie Two Shoes today defeated six rivals with rating of 100-plus and afterwards Browne McMonagle said "it was very open, it was a very competitive affair and her form was as good as any of the others really.

"She is very straightforward and jumped forward from the gates. The speed was nice and even all the way, it suited me. She relaxed and quickened up well: she has got plenty of class and got to the line good.

“She's improving all the time, handles quick ground and stays the two miles well, so we were hoping for a good run. She doesn't need to improve a whole lot to be at that level now."
