McNamara aims for Limerick return

Andrew McNamara hopes to be back in action at the Ladbrokes Munster National meeting at Limerick next Sunday after suffering concussion in a fall at Gowran Park.

The jump jockey has been stood down for seven days following his tumble from Negus, who was brought down at the third-last flight in the Gowran Christmas Party 11th December Handicap Hurdle on Saturday.

"I'm OK, but I've been stood down for seven days as I've got a bit of concussion," said McNamara.

"The horse rolled over me so I'll take it easy for a week. I don't think there's anything major wrong though.

"Hopefully, I'll be back for the Munster National meeting at Limerick."
