McNamara hoping for more festive success at Limerick Local trainer Eric McNamara is looking forward to the Christmas action at Limerick and is hoping he can bag some more success at the festive meeting. Greenmount Park has been by far the biggest source of winners for the Rathkeale handler over the years. He will be well represented again when the four day meeting starts on St Stephen's Day and feels that the ground may not be as testing as it has been in recent years. “Limerick is very local to us and it's always been a great meeting,” said McNamara. “We've been very lucky there over the years, we've had plenty of winners there. “This year will be no different from the point of view that we will have runners there but like everything it's getting harder to win these races every year. “Hopefully we won't leave empty handed before the week is done. “You'd hope that it won't be as heavy this year as it has been. Some years it has been really very heavy, so heavy that you wouldn't be able to run one or two of the horses as they wouldn't like it as bad as that. “I'd say the ground may not be as testing as normal which will be a big help to everybody.”
