Eric McNamara hopes to have two runners in the Irish Grand National on April 10th.

His Paddy Power Chase winner Real Steel and Donkey Years, third in the Munster National on his last completed start and a Punchestown Festival winner last season, hold engagements in the 500,000 Euros contest sponsored by BoyleSports on Easter Monday although both of them will need a few horses to drop out in order to guarantee a place in the line-up.

The Rathkeale handler said: "Both horses are in great shape. We hummed and hawed about running Donkey Years in a three-mile handicap hurdle at Cork last week but the ground came up too soft for him.

"They'll both go to Fairyhouse. Whether Donkey Years (no.47 on the list of entries with a maximum field of 30) will get in or not I don't know, but they'll both definitely go there if at all possible".
