Meade excited by Browne

Noel Meade's Thegreatjohnbrowne puts his unbeaten record over fences on the line in the Florida Pearl Novice Chase at Punchestown on Sunday.

The chestnut beat subsequent winner Bostons Angel on his fencing introduction at the track last month and his trainer is excited about stepping up to Grade Three company this weekend.

"He's a horse we've always thought the world of and he jumped good the last day," said Meade.

"He's in very good form so hopefully he'll do the same again and I'm not sure if he'll like the ground as heavy as this or not, but he's a huge horse and you wouldn't think it would bother him."

Just five runners have been declared for the two-mile-six-furlong contest with Erritt Lake, Healys Bar, Sam Adams and smart hurdler Tharawaat completing the field.
