Meyler escapes serious injury from fall Galway Plate-winning jockey Donagh Meyler appears to have escaped serious injury following a fall at Listowel on Friday. The 5lb claimer was unshipped from the John Ryan-trained Draycott Place at the second-last fence in the in the Southampton Goodwill Chase when coming to challenge stablemate Kylecrue, who went on to secure victory. Meyler was taken to hospital for X-rays with a suspected hairline fracture to his right shin, but the Irish Turf Club's senior medical officer Dr Adrian McGoldrick was pleased to provide a more positive update on his condition on Saturday morning. He said: "I've spoken to Donagh this morning and thankfully it's just ligament damage and there's no fracture. "It's very good news. I'm not sure how long he'll be out for, maybe a week or two."
