Monksfield possible for Azorian Connections of Azorian will consider the next port of call for the five-year-old after he bolted up on his hurdling debut at Cork on Sunday. The Westerner gelding, owned by Gigginstown House Stud, made all the running to slam Crystal Earth by 21 lengths over two and a half miles. Trainer Eoin Griffin is not getting carried by the victory, but hopes Azorian could turn into a decent horse. The Monksfield Novice Hurdle at Navan on November 24 is a possible second step along the ladder. "We were pleased with him and he did it in impressive fashion," said the County Kilkenny handler. "It might not have been the strongest race in the world, but he did it well. "He seems a proper young horse. We'll take it one step at a time with him and hopefully he will go the right way for us. "I need to talk to the owners about where we go next, but maybe the Monksfield Novice Hurdle at Navan. "That's an option but we'll see how he is over the next few weeks."
