Moore back on a winner Ryan Moore's return from the sidelines was a winning one as the well-bred Spatial won the Stride By TRM EBF Stallions Maiden Fillies' Stakes at Newmarket. A daughter of the classy mare Spacious, the home-bred Cheveley Park Stud offspring had finished a promising second on debut at the same track. Moore's mount bounced out of the stalls professionally and was never far from the pace, travelling kindly throughout. Without the former champion having to do anything too seriously, the 4-6 favourite cruised to the front and had no trouble in beating Unforgetable Filly by two and a half lengths. Moore has been out of action since Glorious Goodwood, with his last competitive ride being for Aidan O'Brien on Alice Springs in the Prix Rothschild at Deauville on July 31. Moore said: "It was nice to come back at Newmarket, as it's just down the road, and to have an easy day. She's a nice filly. "It's just nice building back into it and while it's disappointing to miss so much of the peak season, it's part of the sport. "It's happened to plenty of people and it will happen again, no doubt, but I know how to deal with it now, I've got good people around me. "I decided it was the sensible thing to stop, unfortunately I missed York which was disappointing, but I wanted to be back for Irish Champions Weekend. "I missed all of them really, I'm looking forward to a big weekend at Leopardstown and the Curragh, then we have all the two-year-old races back here to look forward to. "I'll be taking things very sensibly for the time being, anyway." Asked about another jockeys' title challenge, Moore added: "There are more important things (in terms of the title), it's not a priority for me. "I was not riding every day anyway, I was only riding four or five days a week and I'll be doing something similar. "I've been back riding out for two weeks. I'm in better shape now than for the last month I was riding. "I'm still building up slowly and not taking any chances." Chris Richardson, managing director of Cheveley Park Stud, said: "That's our 60th winner of the season and she's got some smart entries, we might consider the Rockfel. "She's in the Fillies' Mile, that might be a bit high too soon but it shows the level of esteem Sir Michael holds her in."
