More Dundalk success for Marnane & McAteer The opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race at Dundalk went to Gavoo (5/2, from 6s this morning) who continued the fine form of trainer David Marnane and jockey Luke McAteer. The pair had a treble here a week ago and had three placed horses at the latest meeting at this venue on Wednesday. Gavoo, a maiden winner at Listowel and placed twice at the Curragh during the turf season, was returning from a 106-day break and certainly looked rusty in the early stages of the six-furlong contest.  Pushed along in tenth entering the straight, the Elzaam colt picked up well when brought to the stands' rail two furlongs out and rattled home to nail Sovereign Cry on the line for a short-head victory. McAteer said: "It wasn't by design (the late rattle), he's had a bit of a break and he's coming back. He's a lovely relaxed horse.  "He has plenty of ability and it is great he has backed up what we thought he was.  "Passing the gate, it got a bit tight. Passing the parade ring gate, I thought I was going to get there comfortably. I knew I had won on the line, so it was nice.  "His form stacks up behind Andab and all them. He's a lovely horse and it is great for the owners (A Touch Of Leather Syndicate), they enjoyed it. A big well done to them and David as well." Additional reporting by Michael Graham
