Morgan hoping for improvement from Sicharia

Joanna Morgan hopes the application of cheekpieces will have the desired effect on San Sicharia in the Oak Tree Stakes at Goodwood tomorrow.

The County Meath trainer felt the four-year-old did not give 100% when sixth in the Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket.

"I just felt she was keeping a little bit up her sleeve at Newmarket so we're putting cheekpieces on her," said Morgan.

"I know she didn't disgrace herself in the Falmouth, but I just thought she was a tad better than that."

Penny's Gift, who finished a head in front of San Sicharia at Newmarket, represents Richard Hannon along with Infamous Angel.

"The older fillies (Goldikova, Heaven Sent and Spacious) were probably too strong for Penny's Gift in the Falmouth," the trainer told his website, richardhannonracing.tv.

"But she wasn't beaten far by Ghanaati in the 1000 Guineas and she went on to win the German equivalent so she is one of the best of her generation and she has to be player back in Group Three company.

"If Infamous Angel could recapture her home form on the track she would be capable of a surprise."
