Motta Alta records maiden success for Fahey and Crosse Motta Alta showed the benefit of her debut at Naas last month when getting off the mark in division one of the Twilight Racing Summer Series Maiden at Limerick. The Ghaiyyath filly, well supported on track from 18/1 into 11/1, narrowly headed the front-running Elusive Path over a furlong out and kept on well under Nathan Crosse to beat that determined rival by half a length. Tourin put in some good work in the closing stages to take third a further two and a half lengths adrift. Winning trainer Jarlath Fahey said, “She had a nice run in Naas when she was a little keen early and didn't see out the mile, although I don't see any problems with her getting that trip when she settles. “Nathan said she was keen again today and that it took him a while to get cover for her. It was softer than ideal for her, but she handled it well and saw out the distance. She is a typical Ghaiyyath who knows how to gallop and run.
