Royal Ascot heroine Lagostovegas is one of five potential runners for Willie Mullins in the Stobart Rail & Civils Northumberland Plate at Newcastle.

The six-year-old provided the 12-times champion jumps trainer with a fourth victory in the Ascot Stakes and could make a swift return in Saturday's 150,000 pound feature at Gosforth Park.

Mullins also confirmed Laws Of Spin, Law Girl, Meri Devie and Gustavus Vassa for the 'Pitmen's Derby'.

The Karen McLintock-trained Dubawi Fifty chased home Lagostovegas at Ascot, denying Mullins a one-two-three-four.

McLintock reports her stable star to have taken those exertions well and is looking forward to seeing him turn out just 11 days later at Newcastle.

She said: "We’re hoping to run. He seems to come out of Ascot OK and the plan is for him to go to Newcastle.

"He ran a great race at Ascot. He doesn’t like to give up and did us proud."

De Sousa is set to keep the ride on Dubawi Fifty, who has won twice and been placed three times in seven visits to the track.

"We think Silvestre will be available to ride him. I hope so, anyway,” the trainer added.

"He has good form at the track and we’re hoping he’ll go there and run a big race."

Dubawi Fifty was one of 70 horses to stand their ground at Monday’s confirmation stage.

The weights are headed by last year’s winner, Higher Power, trained by James Fanshawe.

Other leading hopes include Roger Charlton’s ante-post favourite Withhold, the Ed Dunlop-trained Amazing Red and Dannyday from Sir Michael Stoute’s yard.
