Mullins introduces exciting Ksar Willie Mullins took ‘Doc’s Bumper’ for the third year running as Ksar Fatal made an impressive start for the champion trainer. The Buck’s Boum gelding had won a point-to-point in fine style for Donnchadh Doyle in Curraghmore last October and went to post even-money favourite on his racecourse bow. Patrick Mullins moved up to dispute turning for home on the hotpot and he edged ahead of King’s Bucks a furlong-and-a-half from home. Ksar Fatal was asked to quicken clear inside the final furlong and really started to motor late on as he pulled away for a nine length success. “He’s a nice horse by Buck’s Boum, sire of Al Boum Photo, and he has a similar type of trait. He gallops and jumps well at home,” said Mullins.   “Conditions are tough out there and he’s a staying type. I’d imagine we’ll give him another run before the end of the season and if we could find a 2m4f bumper that would be nice.   “Maybe the winning owner might have a double at the weekend as he has Redemption Day at Naas tomorrow.   “It’s nice to win the Doc(Brendan Doyle)’s Bumper and all his family are here.” The race has been won by the likes of Bob Olinger, Yorkhill and First Lieutenant in past years.
