Willie Mullins has been backed from 4/1 into 3/1 second favourite with Coral to win the UK Trainers' Championship.

Perennial Irish champion Mullins is assembling another powerful team for the Cheltenham Festival, with the likes of Faugheen, Douvan, Annie Power and Min strong favourites already for the opening day.

Championship leader Paul Nicholls is currently about £800,00 ahead of Mullins and remains favourite to retain his crown but is eased to 4/9 (from 2/5), with Nicky Henderson out to 9/2 (from 3/1).

"With a host of Cheltenham Festival favourites in his squad, it's easy to see why punters are backing Willie Mullins to overtake Paul Nicholls in the title race," said Coral's David Stevens.

"A repeat of last year's record-breaking haul at Prestbury Park would go a long way in closing the gap."

Title odds: 4/9 Paul Nicholls, 3/1 Willie Mullins, 9/2 Nicky Henderson, 33/1 Philip Hobbs.
