Mick Mulvany jump-started the new Flat-season today, as having landed the featured ‘Lincoln’ with Ribee completed his double with a second 20/1-priced winner Electric Beauty in the concluding 1xBet.ie Supporting Irish Racing Handicap.

On a day when the leading trainers failed to fire, Mulvany had earlier bagged a second €100,000 Lincoln success and while Electric Beauty carried poor Dundalk-form into today’s race and was the trainer’s second-string, she finished well in difficult conditions to score by 2.5 lengths from Lough Leane .

Electric Beauty, under Jamie Powell, indeed led home bigger-priced placed-horses to land the 26-runner race, scoring from a 25/1 chance (in second place), 33/1 (third) and 66/1 (fourth).

Regarding the Cleary Syndicate’s filly and after his neat 440/1 double, Mulvany mentioned “it’s lovely to get this and she kept at it. She’s as fit as a flea as she had a couple of runs at Dundalk.

“We’ll probably enter her up shortly again as she wants a little bit of dig in the ground, although probably not as heavy as that. Hopefully she’ll improve and we’ll have a good year with her.”
