Munster Weekend of Racing This weekend sees Limerick Racecourse stage their first pair of weekend fixtures with the inaugural running of the €25,000 McMahon's Munster Mile taking centre stage on an all-Flat card on Saturday followed by the Ladbrokes Munster National on Sunday. The €100,000 Ladbrokes Munster National is the oldest race in the Province and has strong entries this year including last year's winner Shanpallas representing the local yard of Charles Byrnes. The 2014 winner has been allotted 10.5lbs in his bid to give owner JP McManus a third straight victory in the race. Other notable entries on Sunday are the exciting Long Dog and the triple Bumper winner Tycoon Prince which are both engaged in the Grade 3 Shannon Christmas Racing Festival Novices Hurdle.
