John Murphy will work High Octane on Tuesday before deciding whether to send him for the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial or a Listed race at Newmarket.

An impressive winner on his debut last year, he was not disgraced when third in the 2,000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown.

"He's in the Derrinstown and he's in a Listed race (Newmarket Stakes at Newmarket) on Saturday. He's training very well and he's come out of his last race well. He's improved from the race considerably," said Murphy.

"The key to him is the quicker the ground the better and we couldn't be happier with him.

"The ground was slow at Leopardstown and that went against him but, to be honest, he was still a bit green.

"We couldn't be happier with the way he is now and he is working on Tuesday and that will determine whether he's ready to go to England or if we'll wait for the Derrinstown."

Murphy is looking forward to getting his juveniles on the track, and said: "I have a very exciting bunch of two-year-olds this year and we're very happy.

"I haven't got any of them out yet. We have entries for next week (Ever Yours and Queen Of Norway in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden at Tipperary on Thursday) but the ground is just not right yet.

"We'll be waiting for better ground."
