Murphy taking his time with Vedette Colm Murphy is biding his time with his exciting mare Voler La Vedette after deciding to skip this weekend's 'Fighting Fifth' Hurdle at Newcastle. The five-year-old slammed Supreme Novices' Hurdle winner Go Native by 13 lengths in a Grade Three event at Down Royal on her latest outing. However, Murphy has decided against a trip to England at this stage of her career and will instead wait until the festive period to take the wraps off her again. "We'll wait until Christmas with her now," said Murphy. "It is amazing the way she keeps on improving, very much like Feathard Lady did a few years ago. "She is only a five-year-old though and that is why I don't want to do too much with her too soon. "The way the ground is, we'll wait until Christmas at Leopardstown when it will hopefully be drier. "She'll have a couple of entries I imagine, in a mares' race and in the Christmas Hurdle as well."
