Muscle problem blamed for Duty Eclipse Connections of Special Duty have blamed a muscle injury for her disappointing performance in the Falmouth Stakes last month. The English and French 1000 Guineas winner was over 20 lengths behind Music Show at Newmarket with Tom Queally easing down well over a furlong from home. Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to Prince Khalid Abdullah, revealed tests have been undertaken to ascertain the extent of the injury with positive news emitting from the Juddmonte operation. "When she came out of the stalls in the Falmouth she might just have gone back on her hocks a little bit," Grimthorpe told At The Races. "She just stretched across the pelvic area. She didn't suffer any damage to the pelvis structurally but Criquette (Head-Maarek) feels that the pelvic area was at least stretched in terms of muscles. "After the race you could tell that all wasn't completely well. "Criquette had a chiropractor visit her and he felt there was quite a bit of movement, which would explain a poor run like that. "He's treated her a few times and all being well she will come back. "She could go for something like the Prix de la Foret (Longchamp, October 3) if she was ready but she was a champion two-year-old and has won two Classics, so obviously we must be respectful of that. "She will have to show that she's in really good form before she goes back to the racecourse."
