Navan cautiously optimistic Navan are cautiously optimistic of racing ahead of their big meeting on Sunday which of course will feature the €80,000 Troytown Handicap Chase and the Grade 2 'Monksfield' Novice Hurdle. Manager at Proudstown Park, Darren Lawlor commented early on Tuesday afternoon: "At the moment we're all fine but we're just obviously keeping a close eye on the forecast which is not great for today and tomorrow and then poor again towards the weekend. We're cautiously optimistic, at the moment we don't foresee a problem. "We've been forecast a lot of rain some days which hasn't come and on other days when we weren't forecast any we've got showers. We'll just have to keep an eye on it but at the minute we're fine and we'll have no problem but the forecast for the weekend is a little bit worrying. We'll just take it as we find it." The Turf Club has issued a statement that in light of the adverse weather forecast the safety limit at Navan on Sunday has been reduced for the Hurdle races and Bumper to 20 runners.
