Navan next up for Primo Uomo Primo Uomo, the five-furlong record holder at Dundalk, is being aimed at the Listed Woodlands Stakes at Navan on April 23rd. Gerard O'Leary's six-year-old gelding has had two runs on the Polytrack in March, but a campaign on turf looms. O'Leary said: "He''ll be aimed at the better five-furlong races and his next target is the Woodlands Stakes. He's in great order and still has plenty of dash for five furlongs. "We tried to snag a race over six furlongs last time (when beaten half a length into second in Dundalk), but it didn't work out. "He'll miss Navan if it is a complete bog, but good to yielding somewhere like a fast track in Tipperary would be ideal. He'll go on good to soft and might even handle heavier ground, but not tacky ground. He wants it no better than good. "After Navan we will look at other Listed races in the likes of the Curragh." Primo Uomo finished third in last year's Woodlands Stakes, beaten a length by Washington DC, and is a former winner on turf at Cork, the Curragh and Down Royal.
