Today’s meeting at Navan, which features the €100,000 Bar One Racing Troytown Handicap Chase, goes ahead following an early morning inspection with the first on an eight-race card getting underway at 11.47am.

Gordon Elliott has a tremendous record in the Troytown winning seven of the last 11 renewals of this three-mile event, and the Cullentra trainer has seven of the 20 runners going to post at 2.32pm.

However, the two main fancies at the head of the market are the Willie Mullins-trained Quai De Bourbon who carries topweight and Gavin Cromwell’s Will The Wise

Grade 1 winning hurdler Final Demand is an exciting recruit to fences but looks sure to go off at very short odds for the Race And Stay Irish EBF Beginners Chase (3.07).

Following a dry night the going at Navan is currently described as heavy, and the forecast is mainly dry for today.

Yesterday’s meeting at Navan was cancelled due to flooding but has been rescheduled for tomorrow with the original declarations still standing.
