Nephin not for passing at Navan Nephin Mountain stuck on gamely in the closing stages to land the spoils in the first division of the Curragh To Curragh Charity Cycle Handicap at Navan. Wesley Joyce drove the Mick Mulvany-trained gelding into a narrow lead passing the furlong pole in the mile contest. The 11/1 shot wasn’t for passing in the closing stages as he went on to record a half-length success over Alto Sax. It was a second career success for the Supremacy gelding, adding to his win at Ballinrobe last month. Mulvany said: "He was knocking on the door and he won in Ballinrobe. The handicapper wasn't too hard on him. "We came here and it wasn't an ideal distance, I'd say he is probably and a mile and two horse.
