New Arc Deal For BBC

The BBC has negotiated a deal to continue live terrestrial television coverage of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe until 2009.

As well as TV rights to the Arc, the three-year deal ? negotiated with TWI and France-Galop ? includes highlights of the Arc Trials, the French Derby and the French Oaks.

Dominic Coles, BBC director of sports rights and finance, said: 'The Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe is one of world's most prestigious horse races and we are delighted it remains part of the BBC's racing crown jewels for the rest of the decade, alongside the Grand National, the Derby and Royal Ascot.

'This acquisition reinforces our commitment to bringing the very best horse-racing to the widest possible audiences.'
