New sponsor for Champion

Bord Bia will sponsor the 2001 Irish Champion Stakes using its Ireland the Food Island trademark.

The race will now be known as the Ireland The Food Island Irish Champion Stakes after Minister for Agriculture, Joe Walsh TD, announced details of the sponsorship today.

The $1 million race is part of the Emirates World Series Racing Championship.
